عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Amma yatasaa'aloon

About what are they asking one another?

عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

'Anin-naba'il-'adheem

About the great news

ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ

Alladhee hum feehi mukhtalifoon

That over which they are in disagreement

كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ

Kallaa saya'lamoon

No! They are going to know

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ

Thumma kallaa saya'lamoon

Then again, no! They are going to know

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًۭا

Alam naj'alil-arda mihaadaa

Have We not made the earth a resting place?

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا

Wal-jibaala awtaadaa

And the mountains as stakes?

وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا

Wa khalaqnaakum azwaajaa

And We created you in pairs

وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا

Wa ja'alnaa nawmakum subaataa

And made your sleep for rest

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا

Wa ja'alnal-layla libaasaa

And made the night as clothing

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا

Wa ja'alnan-nahaara ma'aashaa

And made the day for livelihood

وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا

Wa banaynaa fawqakum sab'an shidaadaa

And built above you seven strong heavens

وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا

Wa ja'alnaa siraajan wahhaajaa

And made a burning lamp

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا

Wa anzalnaa minal-mu'siraati maa'an thajjaajaa

And sent down from the rain clouds pouring water

لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا

Linukhrija bihee habban wa nabaataa

That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا

Wa jannaatin alfaafaa

And gardens of dense growth

إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَـٰتًۭا

Inna yawmal-fasli kaana meeqaataa

Indeed the Day of Judgment is an appointed time

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًۭا

Yawma yunfakhu fis-soori fata'toona afwaajaa

The Day the horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes

وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا

Wa futihatiss-samaa'u fakaanat abwaabaa

And the sky is opened and will be as gates

وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا

Wa suyyiratil-jibaalu fakaanat saraabaa

And the mountains are removed and will be as a mirage

إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًۭا

Inna jahannama kaanat mirsaadaa

Indeed Hellfire has been lying in wait

لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًۭا

Lit-taagheena ma'aabaa

For the transgressors, a place of return

لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا

Laabitheeena feeha ahqaabaa

In which they will remain for ages

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًۭا وَلَا شَرَابًا

Laa yadhooqoona feehaa bardan wa laa sharaabaa

They will not taste therein any coolness or drink

إِلَّا حَمِيمًۭا وَغَسَّاقًۭا

Illaa hameeman wa ghassaaqaa

Except boiling water and purulent fluid

جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا

Jazaa'an wifaaqaa

An appropriate recompense

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًۭا

Innahum kaanoo laa yarjoona hisaabaa

Indeed they were not expecting an account

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كِذَّابًۭا

Wa kadhdhaboo bi-aayaatinaa kidhdhhaabaa

And denied Our signs with denial

وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ كِتَـٰبًۭا

Wa kulla shay'in ahsaynaahu kitaabaa

But all things We have enumerated in writing

فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا

Fadhooqoo falan nazeeda-kum illaa adhaabaa

So taste; we will not increase you except in punishment

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا

Inna lil-muttaqeena mafaazaa

Indeed for the righteous is achievement

حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَـٰبًۭا

Hadaa'iqa wa a'naabaa

Gardens and grapevines

وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًۭا

Wa kawaa'iba atraabaa

And full-breasted companions of equal age

وَكَأْسًۭا دِهَاقًۭا

Wa ka'san dihaaqaa

And a cup full to the brim

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًۭا

Laa yasma'oona feehaa laghwan wa laa kidhdhaabaa

No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood

جَزَآءًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًۭا

Jazaa'an mir-rabbika ataa'an hisaabaa

As reward from your Lord — a generous account

رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًۭا

Rabbis-samaawaati wal-ardi wa maa baynahumaar-rahmaani laa yamlikoona minhu khitaabaa

Lord of the heavens and earth and what is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess no power of speech before Him

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّۭا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًۭا

Yawma yaqoomur-roohu wal-malaaa'ikatu saffan laa yatakallamoona illaa man adhina lahur-rahmaanu wa qaala sawaabaa

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits and he will say what is correct

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا

Dhaalikal-yawmul-haqqu faman shaa'attakhadha ilaa rabbihee ma'aabaa

That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a way of return

إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَـٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا

Innaa andharnaa-kum adhaaban qareeban yawma yandhurulmaru'u maa qaddamat yadaahu wa yaqoolul-kaafiru yaa laytanee kuntu turaabaa

Indeed We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say: I wish I were dust
